1. How long have you been working at Adhese and how has your role evolved over the years?
I’ve been working at Adhese since 2013, so that’s 11 years now. Initially, my role was focused on following up on customer tickets. While the company was much smaller back then and we were all based in Ghent, it’s grown a lot since. Over time, there have been significant changes. Now, I’m a team lead and involved in more meetings, both within my team and across different departments, to discuss strategy and future directions. The biggest difference is the scale of our projects. When I started, we were working with smaller Belgian companies. Now, we have global clients like Ahold Delhaize. But the core of my work remains the same – solving problems and ensuring things run smoothly, which I love.
2. What were your expectations when you started at Adhese and how has the company helped you achieve your goals?
When I first started, I didn’t have any specific expectations. I thought it might be a temporary job. I’ve stayed at Adhese for so long because of the great colleagues, the flexible work environment, and the nature of the work itself. I enjoy solving problems and troubleshooting technical issues. Working at Adhese has allowed me to learn a lot and develop new skills, especially through interactions with colleagues who have diverse experiences.
3. What do you find most challenging about your job, and what brings you the greatest satisfaction?
The most challenging part of my job is troubleshooting complex technical issues. For example, when a banner doesn’t appear on a website, I have to dive into the code to find the problem. However, the satisfaction I get from finding a solution and resolving a customer’s issue is incredibly rewarding.
4. Can you share a project or experience that you’re particularly proud of?
I actually find smaller tasks and large-scale projects equally rewarding. But I always feel proud when I’m able to solve a problem that multiple people have been struggling with. It’s great to be the one who finally figures it out and relieves the stress of everyone involved.
5. How would you describe Adhese’s company culture and values?
Adhese has a very open and approachable culture. It’s a place where everyone is encouraged to share their ideas. The work-life balance is excellent, which is something that the company founders strongly believe in. I also appreciate the company’s ethical approach to business. It’s not just about making money; there’s a genuine concern for things like privacy. I would recommend Adhese to anyone looking for a challenging and rewarding career in a company that values its employees.
